Now you’ve decided which festivals you’re heading to this summer thanks to our top picks it is time to start thinking about what you need to take with you. Obviously, we know you’re not stupid but sometimes in all the excitement, you can forget things. Let’s be honest we’ve all had a lightbulb moment during a festival where we wished we’d done something differently. Don’t worry though as we’ve got you covered to make sure you have the best weekend possible where you just lose your voice and nothing else.

1. Make Sure You Have A Power Pack With You

Let’s be honest you don’t even leave the house to go to the shop without your phone having battery so we know you’ll be making sure your phone is topped up before you leave, but how are you going to keep your iPhone going while in the middle of the field? Power packs are pretty cheap and you can buy some packs with two days of power packed in- it’s a no brainer really. Your phone is your lifeline in the fields, if you’re separated from your mates, need to take some sick pictures for the gram or even paying for your food with Apple Pay if you’ve lost your card. Or if you’re one of those people who lose their phone on every night out leave the iPhone at home and take a Nokia brick with you.

2. Don’t Forget The Tent

Now we know what you’re thinking, how could anyone forget the tent? But we bet you can think of at least one person who would turn up with nothing to sleep in, if you can’t think of anyone then that person is you. Without a tent, you’ll be pretty cold and most likely drenched so if there’s one thing you take away from us today it’s this. Talking about tents also make sure you buy a tent for one more person that is actually going to be sleeping in it. Don’t forget you’ll be keeping your whole life with you in that tent so you’re going to need some more room. Where abouts you decide to pitch your tent can also be a make or break. You want to be close to the toilet but not too close so you have to endure the smell all weekend, or at the bottom of a hill in case your festival turns into a swamp on day one. But you don’t want to be so close to the paths that you’re woken up by people lost in the wrong camp at 5am. Finding where you’ve pitched up can be long, so make sure you find something memorable like a flag to make sure you end up back in the right tent at 2am.

3. Make Sure You Get One Solid Meal A Day

It’s easy to get carried away in the fields and before you know it you’ve not had anything to eat for 12 hours and you’re starting to flag. No one wants to faint during a headline slot do they? Most festivals serve more than just burgers and chips these days so challenge yourself to try something from every stall to avoid passing out and missing your favourite artists. It’s also a good idea to pack some of your own food as the food stalls won’t be serving food that’s priced like your local takeaway.

4. Use A Sandwich Bag To Keep Your Phone Dry

It’s very rarely sunny for more than a day in England so if you’re expecting to turn up to a festival and stay dry all weekend you’ve already set yourself up to fail. You’re going to get drenched, but a ziplock sandwich bag will keep your phone, wallet and whatever else you want to put in there dry for the weekend.

5. Look Fresh While Keeping It Practical

Okay so, we know you want to look fresh in the fields but there are some essentials you need while raving in the great outdoors. Although they might be essential, it doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice your style for them. If and it’s a big if, the sun makes an appearance a cap is going to stop the sun from beating down on your head all day, pair with some sunglasses too so that you can actually see your favourite artists on stage and you’re not just squinting at them. It’s also wise to pack a jacket too as the sun is never out for long in Britain, so take a look at our KWD jackets to find your perfect festival threads.
